About Infobase
Infobase North Lanarkshire is a project funded by NHS Lanarkshire and NLP, and managed by CVS North Lanarkshire. Over an eight-month period in 2008/09, over 500 third sector organisations were individually interviewed to complete a detailed questionnaire on everything from their aims and objectives to funding and finance.
Based on a similar initiative in Glasgow, Infobase provides a clear picture of the size and scope of the sector in North Lanarkshire, and is a baseline for quality research on the sector’s needs and concerns.
Up-to-date and accurate general information on each organisation can be accessed by visiting the Infobase website, and bespoke reports can be prepared on the broader dataset. A series of briefing papers will also be published, drawing on the information, and will be downloadable from the Infobase website.

Whether you're a member of the public, a volunteer, trustee or staff-member of a voluntary group or a statutory sector worker, Infobase can be a valuable resource in a number of ways:

You can visit the Infobase website (www.infobase-northlanarkshire.org) to search our database of voluntary organisations. The site is simple and easy to use, and it is possible to run searches in a number of ways, including alphabetical, area of activity and geographic placement. This is ideal for staff and volunteers at organisations looking to work in partnership or refer service users elsewhere.
Reports Service
You can request an individually tailored information report on North Lanarkshire's third sector by contacting Gavin Bell on 01236 748011. Some of the reports we've dealt with to date range from simple targeted contact lists (e.g. youth groups in Cumbernauld), to more in-depth research based on voluntary sector provision in SIMD areas.
