About the Training & Development service
CVS North Lanarkshire provides a number of training and development opportunities for the third sector within North Lanarkshire:
- FREE Training programme
- Tailored (bespoke) Training
- Training Needs Analysis
- One to one supports
- Themed events / seminars
Training Programme
CVS NL’s training programme runs from September to June each year. The new training programme will be available from late July 2009. CVS NL provides training to new voluntary groups in order to build their capacity, and also to existing groups to increase their sustainability. Training is open to all board / committee members and staff. Courses cover areas such as IT, Management Committee Skills, Basic Book-keeping, Financial Responsibilities, Funding, Employers Responsibilities, and Effective Minute Taking.
Bespoke Training
We also offer a bespoke training service where we can tailor any of the above sessions to your organisation’s training needs. In addition we can also deliver the Pacific Institute STEPS to Excellence course. Please contact us to discuss details and costs.
Training Needs Analysis
This is a new service, whereby we can support groups to identify their training needs, provide action plans and assist them in sourcing suitable training and development opportunities. This service is free to CVS members.
One-to-One Supports
CVS NL’s development staff are available to offer support, advice and information around the following areas: Organisational Start-Up, Finance & Funding and Employers Responsibilities. Contact the CVS on 01236 748011 to arrange an appointment.
Themed Events and Seminars
We organise events and seminars focusing on areas relevant to the sector. We aim to ensure that our members are kept abreast of any new information or legislation that affects them, for example financial responsibilities, charity and company law and funding. These events also provide excellent networking opportunities.
