Employability in the Third Sector event - 22 February 2010

CVS North Lanarkshire, in partnership with North Lanarkshire Council is pleased to announce the Employability in the Third Sector event at the Volunteer Centre in Wishaw on the 22nd February 2010, 9.30am – 11.30am

 

The event is aimed at organisations that are looking to either develop a project for the North Lanarkshire Working Engagement Fund and/or are interested in the second stage of the Future Jobs Fund. 

Speakers at the event will include:

Kenny Moffat Director – CVS North Lanarkshire

Kenny will open the event and will then give a short presentation on the role of CVS North Lanarkshire in promoting Employability opportunities to the Third Sector. 

Andrew McCann SVA Thematic Partnership Officer (CVS North Lanarkshire)

Andrew will talk about the establishment of the SVA Employability Network and the success in making Third Sector organisations more aware of the funding opportunities available, and helping establish vital partnerships, both within the sector and with statutory providers.

Vivienne Sawers Economic Development Officer (North Lanarkshire Council – Regeneration Services) North Lanarkshire Working Engagement Project

Vivienne will discuss the North Lanarkshire Working Engagement Fund (Formerly known as the Job Brokerage Fund) tendering process, and detailing the client groups the project hopes to engage with.  A total of £300,000 is available for Third Sector organisations to bid into.  Vivienne will also highlight the achievements of organisations who previously accessed funding through the Job Brokerage Fund, and detailing the lessons learned.

Kevin Innes Economic Development Officer – Regeneration Services (North Lanarkshire Council) Future Jobs Fund

Kevin Innes will summarise the progress of North Lanarkshire’s Future Jobs Fund, highlighting  the project’s achievements to date.  Kevin will advise potential participants of the opportunities  for funding and outline the process for accessing the Future Jobs Fund.

Additional Support

• Stuart Rennie, Development Officer (Funding and Sustainability) for CVS North Lanarkshire will be in attendance to offer organisations guidance and advice on external funding.

• Michelle Campbell, Monitoring and Support Officer for the Future Jobs Fund, will also be available to assist with any Future Jobs Fund enquiries.
