CALL West: Community Access to Lifelong Learning

CALL west involves work with adults in community learning settings who wish to progress to accredited college and university programmes.

 

Learning Development Officers can deliver short, informal workshops for community learners.  These are fully customised to meet the needs of learners and take place in community venues. 

  Workshops topics include:

 Programme aims and objectives ·       

Get to know a bit more about the sessions, meet fellow learners, hear             about other people’s experience 

 What’s it like at College or University ·       

This session introduces the idea of college/university as a progression

Begin to identify skills·   

 Look at existing skills and experience

Have a go ·       

Activity session identify skills such as communication and working together

How do I learn ·  

 Look at different learning styles

Where next

  Look at opportunities and progression  

 These sessions can be adapted and tailored to meet the needs of each group
