I am the Development Officer (Social Economy & HR) and my role withinCVSNL is to help voluntary sector employers to be good employers.Those who employ staff or are about to get funding to do will want to ensure they are acting as a good employer by complying with employment law and fair employment practices.
Employment law has been changing rapidly over the past few years and the pace is unlikely to slow down over the coming years. When it comes to employing staff, CVSNL can offer groups advice, guidance, support by telephone, email, one to ones, small groups and workshops. The most common requests for support are: Recruitment & Selection, Terms & Conditions of Employment, Policies & Procedures.
We can however, provide intervention & tailored support in all areas of Human Resource Management. My other role is to provide on going support and guidance in identifying and meeting organisational needs by delivering targeted support to social economy organisations. This includes facilitating local geographically based networks and events and developing a database of North Lanarkshire social economy organisations
